Sails: A.R.T. @ Maui

Control Bump Speed Style King Surf

A.R.T. Rip Wave
While most wave and bump sails (like the A.R.T. Pure sideshore wave sail) sport four or five battens, the Rip Wave boasts six. The sixth batten adds a little weight, but it also confers unusual stability. The result is an exceptionally fast and stable sail for medium to heavyweight riders. We didn’t feel the Rip Wave is at its best in under-powered sideshore conditions, but for powered–up blasting in rough chop or onshore waves it’s as good as they get. Complaints? The single grommet tack requires a pulley hook (which not everyone has) for easy downhauling.
