Weekend Workout

Bill Fleischer said the days don't get any more beautiful than Saturday. As owner of the lovely house and grounds that are Club Paradise, he should know. He was talking about beautiful wind, as well as the weather in general.

It was a classic tradewind day, 6.0 in late morning, 5.0 throughout the afternoon, and 6.0 in early evening, for big guys. Efficient 160-pounders were sailing in the 4.7 to 5.2 range. The water was a little bit choppy and the waves were small, so sailors went way out and stayed out for hours. Our new group for the third week started arriving to sail, including pro tester Nevin Sayre, and two of the dealers who will be here for the test, Randy Johnson and Jim DeSilva. Testers, Rutledge Young, a lawyer from Charleston, S.C., Peter Burnight, software designer from Santa Cruz, CA., Rob Tagiuri of Boston and Al Chinappi of NYC complete the remaining test spots for the week. Three more dealers are scheduled o arrive on Sunday.
