John Chao

The organizer of the US Team and the TAWR, John Chao is the publisher and
editor of American Windsurfer Magazine. Born in Taiwan of Chinese parents
Chao immigrated to the United States after six years living in Brazil and
Peru. Before starting the magazine Chao was a professional photojournalist
widely published in National Geographic, GEO, Time-Life, Newsweek and
others. He was instrumental in the formation of the International Center of
Photography (ICP) in New York City and was the president of the United
States Professional Windsurfing Association.
American Windsurfer Magazine, the collective talents from Chao's past, is
in it's fifth year of publication. Out of 3,500 entries, this publication
has just recently won the Bronze Metal in the Golden Ink Awards.
