Kiran Beyer

From 1988 to 1992, Kiran attended the University of Oregon in Eugene and received a BS in Biology. She ran varsity cross country and track, worked as an academic advisor and spent free time backpacking in the Cascade Mountains. She paddled on the state of Oregon's first outrigger canoe team and participated with the team in the annual 26 mile outrigger race across the Catalina Channel in southern California.

Kiran started her windsurfing career as a cook for a windsurfing company in Baja. After one season, as her skills improved, she started instructing. For the next few years she made an instructing circuit from Baja to Maui to Oregon/California with Excursions Extraordinaires, ABK Sports, Vela and Rhonda Smith Wind Surfing Center. Kiran now works for Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington. At the clinic she works as a bilingual counselor and a medical assistant. She plans to begin medical school in August of 1999. Her free time is spent running, windsurfing and racing in triathlons.
