FINAL DAY: After a week-long delay, the final day of preparation came together for the US team. The team added two powerful members to balance off the strong eight man Brazilian squad; Fernando Martinez Del Cerro, a 22 year old Raceboard World Champion from Spain and Daniele Oliviere, 21 year old Junior Champion from Italy. Both sailors are team riders for The Loft and they are a welcome addition to the US Team. A press conference was held in the evening with regional dignitaries including the President of Algarve. The delay has been a drain on all teams and the apparent disorganization of the event has bee a source of discussion. However, all participant have taken an the spirit of adventure and followed the flow of the event with great camaraderie. The two competing teams between Brazil and the US have bonded with great admiration and friendship.
