HOW WE TEST THE BOARDS:
Each board is weighed, measured and assigned a Board Category based on the manufacturers intended use for the board. We will test each board in that category onlyif we think it would be better in another one well let you know. Boards will be tested with the fin supplied by the manufacturer. Each of the over 50 boards expected to appear during the course of this test will be reviewed by our team of Pro Testers and our Guest Testers.

HOW WE TEST THE SAILS:
Each sail is weighed, assigned a Sail Category and rigged on the mast supplied by the manufacturer according to their instructions. If we feel that a sail requires different tuning than specified in the manufacturers instructions we will report this in our findings. It should be noted that we can only test the sail model and size supplied by the manufacturer, and because of the potential performance difference between sail sizes, even within a single model line, we cannot reliably extrapolate on our findingsso we wont even try. We have, however, standardized the test by using Chinook bases and carbon booms and we thank Chinook for providing them. With over 60 sails expected to arrive over the weeks of the test our team of Pro Testers and Guest testers will be kept very busy.

WHY TWO TYPES OF TESTERS?:
As with any radical new approach we have learned from our experiences and have adapted and improved. Just like last year the 2000+1 Feedback Festival will include Guest Testersrecreational sailors from lakes and rivers and beaches around the world. However, the most exciting addition this year is that of a Pro Testers category to complete the spectrum of sailing abilities. The pros ability to concisely identify strengths and weaknesses will support and validate the findings of the other testers, and their inclusion is a clear endorsement to the industry as a whole for how they, too, believe tests should be conducted.
